The Return of Live.

Secret Sounds Connect has welcomed 2021 with open arms, excited to return to the lifestyle we love so much and a pipeline of live music on the cards. 2020 reminded us that music is a friend through the good and the bad, and as an industry, we learnt to be resilient, take on new challenges and discover innovative ideas.

We ended 2020 with exciting news. Secret Sounds received a grant of more than $1.5 million to underwrite a new 2021 festival (stay tuned for more) awarded by the federal government as part of a strategy to reboot the devastated entertainment sector. The impact of COVID-19 has caused 86% decline in employment, leaving a majority of 10,000 full-time workers without income. It has been a big step to rebuild the $2.7 billion festival industry and help move into recovery.

We love live music and being able to share these opportunities with our community is what gets us out of bed every day. Three weeks into 2021 and we’re hitting the ground running announcing new tours, new festivals and innovations. So, let’s dig into it:

Summer Sounds: This fresh, socially distanced, pod-viewing experience launched early December 2020 as a four-week showcase of the best Aussie talent marking the return of live music in Adelaide. So far, 28,000+ fans have attended the curated covid-safe event with new shows in Melbourne just announced!

Yungblud: On the back of his newly released album, “Weird!” our favourite Yorkshire singer and songwriter returns to tour Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide early September with all the best larrikin vibes.

The Avalanches: Following their hot-off-the-press masterpiece, “We Will Always Love You”, The Avalanches sold through their upcoming April live event at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne after just two days on sale.

Looking forward to a bumper year with more to be announced from Secret Sounds such as the launch of a brand new festival and a jam-packed calendar of tours across the country.
